Although I was on the South Shore (Center Moriches) I respected her energy and ideals there. Brookhaven Town, where I lived, was known as "Crookhaven", even among the very people who were profiting from that corrupt regime! Nora was, I believe, in Smithtown but she'll certainly tell you that it was like the wild west down there in Suffolk when it came to ethics.
